Abstract

Background: There are 284,224 people with hypertension in Banjarnegara Regency (2019). Poor sleep quality is a risk factor for hypertension in adults. The way that can be used to overcome sleep problems is non-pharmacological treatment, one of which is progressive muscle relaxation therapy and the use of aromatherapy. Research Objectives: To determine whether there is any effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy Combination of Eucalyptus Oil on Sleep Quality in Hypertension Sufferers at the Rakit 1 Banjarnegara Health Center. Research Methods: Pre-experimental research using the One Group Pretest- Postest Design approach. Using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire sheet to measure the level of sleep quality. Total population of 25 patients. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a sample of 20 respondents. In this study, the independent variable was progressive muscle relaxation therapy with a combination of eucalyptus oil and the dependent variable was sleep quality in hypertensive patients. Research Results: The average value of the post test and pre test has decreased. Conclusion: There is an effect of giving progressive muscle relaxation therapy a combination of eucalyptus oil on the sleep quality of hypertensive patients at the Rakit 1 Banjarnegara Health Center. Recommendation: It is hoped that this will educate the public to get to know non-pharmacological techniques that can be used to improve their sleep quality.
