Abstract
Background: Indonesia is a country with surgical Sectio Caesarea (SC) proportion of 9.8 %. Interview on 26-30th October 2015 with 9 post SC patients at Rahmah Maternity Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong informed that on average, they started feeling painful for 3 hours post surgery in either mild, moderate, or severe pain. Objective: To determine the effect of audio distraction: murottal al-qur’an on decreasing the pain of sectio caesarea patients of post operation at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Methods: The present study was a quasi-experimental research with one group prepost test design. The samples were 31 respondents taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate using Paired t-Test. Results: There were 23 respondents (74.2%) had mild pain, and 8 respondents (25.8%) had moderate pain. There was significant effect and difference after being given audio distraction: murottal Al-Qur’an with p-value 0.000 (< 0.05) at 95% significance. Conclusion: There was an effect of audio distraction: murottal Al-Qur’an on decreasing the pain of sectio caesarea patients of post operation at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong.
