Abstract
Background: Stunting is a condition of impaired growth in children due to chronic malnutrition, causing them to experience lower heights compared to their age. Stunting is caused by chronic malnutrition and related to many factors, such as low birth weight, baby length, parenting, and exclusive breast-feeding history. Objective: To determine the relationship between the history of exclusive breastfeeding, beby length, and the incidence of child stunting in Munding Village, Bergas District, Semarang Regency. Method: This research was a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. It investigated the relationship between two variables in a specific situation or group of subjects. This proposal describes the relationship between the independent variables (exclusive breastfeeding history and baby length) and the dependent variable (child stunting). Results: The results of the chi-square test showed a p-value of 0.019 (<0.05), indicating a significant relationship between the history of exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of child stunting. Additionally, the p-value of 0.000 (<0.05) indicated a significant relationship between the baby length of infants and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Munding Village, Bergas District, Semarang Regency. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between the baby's length and the incidence of child stunting in Munding Village, Bergas District, Semarang Regency. Recommendations: Further research can investigate the factors that cause stunting.
