Abstract

Background: Cardiac arrest, specifically the sudden and abrupt loss of heart function, can occur in individuals whether or not they have been diagnosed with heart disease. The timing of cardiac arrest is unpredictable, and it occurs rapidly once signs and symptoms manifest. Basic life support (BLS) is an emergency measure aimed at restoring respiratory and/or cardiac function in cases of clinical death in order to prevent biological death. Purpose: To determine the relationship between nurses' knowledge level and their selfefficacy in the management of cardiac arrest patients. Method: This study was a quantitative descriptive correlation design, specifically utilizing a cross-sectional approach. Results: The bivariate analysis results indicate that the majority of respondents demonstrated the highest level of knowledge, with 31 respondents (91%) having good knowledge. Additionally, the majority of respondents exhibited good self-efficacy, with 33 (97%). The results of univariate analysis were conducted using Spearman rank analysis, yielding a correlation coefficient value of 0.054, which is greater than 0.05. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that there was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and nurses' self-efficacy, as evidenced by the correlation coefficient value of 0.054, which is greater than 0.05. Recommendation: For future research, it is recommended to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and the successful execution of basic life support (BLS) procedures.
