Abstract
Background: Hypertension or commonly known as high blood pressure is an increase in cytolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmhg and diastolic 90 mmhg so that it can cause pain and even death. Signs and symptoms that often appear in hypertension are headaches, combination therapy of deep breath relaxation and foot soak with warm water is a therapy that can be done to relieve acute pain by breathing with rhythmic slow frequency followed by soaking feet with warm water that can calm and reduce pain, and reduce hypertension. General objective: To explain nursing care with the application of combination therapy of deep relaxation and foot soak with warm water in hypertensive patients with acute pain nursing problems in the Flamboyant Room of Prembun Kebumen Hospital. Method: Using case study design on 5 hypertensive patients in the Flamboyant Room of Prembun Kebumen Hospital. Data analysis using descriptive analysis. Nursing care outcomes: Nursing problems that arose in 5 patients with hypertension were acute pain and sleep pattern disturbances. Nursing intervention by implementing pain management and sleep support performed during 3 days of treatment. The results of applying a combination of deep breath relaxation and foot soak with warm water showed a significant reduction in pain, namely the five patients with a moderate scale of pain scale 4, after a combination therapy of deep breath relaxation and foot soak with warm water for 3 days decreased to a mild scale of pain scale 2. Recommendation: For nurses should apply a combination therapy of deep breath relaxation and foot soak with warm water in patients with acute pain nursing problems in hypertension.
