Abstract
Background: Flood is sudden inundation resulting from very high water level in areas that are usually dry. Flooding is hydrological events characterized by high water level and resulting inundation on the land around the river, lake or other water systems. People who were 190 respondents to the flood less because of the new twich to get counseling from BPBD Kebumen. Objective: to determine the society knowledge and attitudes on flood management in Sidobunder village, Puring sub-district of Kebumen regency. Method: This study is a quantitative research using correlational method by distributing questionnaires to the respondents to determine society knowledge and attitude on flood management Result: There were 86.3% respondents who have good knowledge category and another 13.7% were in mediocre category. There were 76.8% respondents who have good attitude category and another 23.2% respondents were in mediocre category. Conclusion: Society knowledge and attitudes on flood management and members of disaster strong village on flood management disaster in Sidobunder village, Puring sub-district of Kebumen regency need to be maintained
