Abstract
Background: Heart failure is a cardiovascular disease which is the highest cause of death in Indonesia. This disease is an abnormality of the structure or function of the heart which is characterized by shortness of breath, restlessness and fatigue (at rest or during activity). Shortness of breath is a disorder of breathing patterns when the heart's performance drops so that breathing exercises are one of the interventions that can be given to overcome the path of ineffective breathing patterns. Slow Deep Breathing is a relaxation technique that can be used to treat shortness of breath in CHF patients. Objective: To analyze nursing care for Ineffective Breathing Pattern problems in CHF patients through Deep Breathing Exercise at Prembun Hospital. Method: This scientific writing uses a descriptive case study design. The subjects of the case study were 5 CHF patients who had Ineffective Breathing Pattern problems. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results: Evaluation of the five patients showed that after being given deep breathing exercise the average respiratory rate was 25 x/m, oxygen saturation was 93%. Whereas before being given the results the average respiratory frequency was 29 x/m, oxygen saturation was 90%. Conclusion: Deep breathing exercise technique is effective in helping breathing patterns improve in CHF patients
