Abstract
Background: WHO identified dengue fever as one of the top 10 global health threats in 2019. In many cases of dengue fever, there is usually a sudden increase in temperature, accompanied by chills, skin bleeding such as petechiae, bruising, hematoma, nosebleeds, hematemesis, and even showed thrombocytopenia. From these problems, therapy is needed to overcome the problem so that platelet levels increase. One of the non-pharmacological treatments used is red guava juice. Objective: Describe nursing care for DHF children with ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion risk problems at Palang Biru Hospital Kutoarjo. Method: This type of research uses descriptive with a case study report approach. The sample of this study were 5 pediatric patients with DHF. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results: The results of the implementation of the five pediatric patients who had been given guava juice experienced an increase in the average platelet value to 141,400 cells/mm3 or cells/μL, previously the average value of platelets in the blood was 89,000 cells/mm3 or cells/μL. Conclusion: Evaluation of the five pediatric patients, the innovative action of giving guava juice is effective in reducing the level of risk of peripheral tissue perfusion is not effective in DHF patients.
