Abstract
Background, Traditional medicine is a medicine derived from natural ingredients. The use of traditional medicine in Indonesia continues to increase from year to year. Data from a preliminary study conducted by Karanganyar Pharmacy has the most sales of traditional medicines and the most complete provision of traditional medicines in Karanganyar sub-district. Research purpose, This study aims to obtain an overview of the use of traditional medicine in Karanganyar Pharmacy, Kebumen Regency. Research Method, The type of research used is observational research that is descriptive. The selection of respondents was carried out by purposive sampling techniques and the number of respondents in this study was 100 people. The instrument used was a questionnaire with nine questions. Research Results, to overview of the use of traditional medicine in Karanganyar Pharmacy. types of traditional medicine herbal medicine (65%), standardized herbal medicine (28%) and phytopharmaceuticals (7%), traditional medicine forms of deep medicinal liquid (40%) reasons for choosing safer traditional medicine (90%), the use of traditional medicine is based on one's own desire (73%), the place where traditional medicine is made factory (100%), it becomes better after taking traditional medicine (100%), Diseases that are often overcome using traditional medicine are cough (14%) and hemorrhoids (25%). Conclusion, the most widely used folk remedies are herbs with dosage forms of deep medicinal liquids. All folk remedies of factory-made origin Recommendation, further research needs to be done on the evaluation of the use of traditional medicine in the community.
