Abstract

Background: Non-hemorrhagic Stroke with hypertension is a condition characterized by partial or complete blockage of blood vessels in the brain, often accompanied by elevated blood pressure, which can potentially lead to disruptions in brain function. One of the nursing problems associated with this condition is the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion, as Stroke increases the likelihood of decreased blood flow to the brain. Autogenic relaxation therapy is a nonpharmacological intervention that can be used to lower blood pressure in such cases. Objective: To provide an analysis of nursing care for non-hemorrhagic Stroke patients with hypertension, focusing on the primary nursing problem: the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion. Methods: This research utilizes a case study and included five patients diagnosed with non-hemorrhagic Stroke and hypertension, all of whom exhibit nursing issues related to the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion. The data was collected from patients in the emergency room of Prembun Hospital, Kebumen. Results: The five elderly patients were recruited, comprising three males and two females. The patients were given autogenic relaxation therapy as primary intervention. Average patients experienced a reduction in systolic blood pressure of 15.6 mmHg and a decrease of 22 mmHg in diastolic pressure. A breakdown of the reductions in systolic and diastolic blood pressure for each patient was as follows: patient 1: 1 and 38 mmHg; patient 2: 34 and 43 mmHg; patient 3: 10 and 6 mmHg; patient 4: 11 and 14 mmHg; and patient 5: 22 and 9 mmHg. After the patients got therapy showed a consistent decrease in blood pressure in all five patients Recommendation: The results from the implementation of autogenic relaxation therapy as a nursing intervention suggest that it can effectively help reduce blood pressure in non-hemorrhagic Stroke patients with hypertension.
