Abstract

Background: An important factor in the process of child development is health. One of the health problems that children often suffer from is acute gastroenteritis. Every year this disease can bring more than 3 to 5 billion children. According to WHO, the number one cause of infant mortality in the world is acute gastroenteritis. Clinical manifestations of gastroenteritis are fever. The tepid water sponge technique can be given to children with GEA fever with a mechanism that helps release body heat by convection evaporation. Objective: Analysis of Nursing Care in GEA Patients with Problems at Palang Biru Kutoarjo Hospital. Method: This scientific writing uses a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 GEA pediatric patients, who had hyperthermia problems. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results: The results of the implementation of the five patients who had been given 5 ml of honey therapy 3 times a day showed a decrease in body temperature from 38.56 ℃ to an average of 37.36 ℃. Conclusion: Evaluation of the five patients after the action of applying a tepid water sponge compress and giving honey is effective in helping to reduce body temperature in children with hyperthermia.
