Abstract
Background: Laparotomy is an abdominal surgery by opening the stomach lining. Laparotomy surgery is a follow-up to surgery in the abdominal area. General Objective: To explain nursing care for post op laparotomy patients with acute pain in Teratai Room at Prof Dr Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital. Method: This study was descriptive method with a case study approach. The sample consisted of 5 patients after laparotomy surgery. Observation sheet before and after administering lemon aromatherapy used as the instrument in this study. Results: After implementation on 5 patients with post laparatomy, all respondents experienced acute pain and were given lemon aromatherapy for 10 minutes. Pain measurement was taken before and after therapy using an observation sheet. After applying the therapy, there are a decrease in pain scale. Conclusion: Lemon aromatherapy effective to reducing pain for post op laparotomy patients. Recommendation: The results of this study can be applied to reduce acute pain for post op laparotomy patients.
