Abstract
Background: Anxiety is an emotional condition and subjective experience towards an unclear and specific object due to anticipation of danger which allows individuals to take action to face the threat. Anxiety management can use non-pharmacological therapy, a combination of generalist therapy and Benson relaxation. Objective: To describe nursing care with a combination of generalist therapy and Benson relaxation to overcome anxiety in patients SC. Method: This research uses a descriptive method with case study subjects of 5 people using the HARS questionnaire, nursing care format, Benson relaxation SOP and generalist therapy for 10-15 minutes during 3 meetings, observation sheet, percentage data analysis, carried out at RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekardjo. Results: The results of nursing intervention in the form of generalist therapy combined with Benson relaxation showed that there were clients who experienced a decrease in anxiety with the highest score difference 12 (85%) in client 5 and the lowest score was 8 (57%) in clients 1 and 4. With an average reduction in anxiety of 70%, and an average pre-ability of 38% and an average post-ability of 94.5%. The highest score difference in client 2 was 7 (72.5%) and the lowest was 5 (57.5%) in client 1. Conclusion: The combination of generalist therapy with Benson relaxation can reduce anxiety in SC patients. Recommendation: It is hoped that generalist therapy combined with Benson relaxation can be applied to patients with anxiety in hospitals.
