Abstract
Background: SC (Sectio Caesarea) is the process of expelling the fetus by making an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus, causing pain and anxiety. The strategy that can be used to treat acute pain is Foot Massage therapy using lemongrass oil. Apart from that, this therapy can also increase circulation, reduce muscle tension, and reduce the pain response. Objective: To explain nursing care by providing foot massage therapy using lemongrass oil to post-SC patients at RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Methods: This case study uses a descriptive method involving 5 patients with acute pain in post-SC patients. The data obtained used pre and post observation sheets and then an assessment was carried out to confirm the diagnosis. The action taken was foot massage therapy using lemongrass oil. Results: After the intervention was carried out by providing foot massage therapy using lemongrass oil, the results showed that the level of pain was controlled as evidenced by the pain scale decreasing, where the five patients had a mild scale (scale 2-4) from a scale of 6-7 (severe pain) after giving massage for 2 x 20 minutes. Conclusion: The results of this case study show an improvement in the patient's condition as evidenced by the controlled level of pain before and after the application of foot massage. Recommendation: Implementation in reducing pain levels is recommended to be carried out consistently in post-SC patients with acute pain problems.
