Abstract

Background: Bronchopneumonia is a respiratory system infection caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. Respiratory diseases are often found in children and are classified as acute infections affecting the lower respiratory system, attacking the bronchi or bronchioles. Writing Objective: To explain nursing care involving the administration of honey to reduce cough frequency in children with bronchopneumonia experiencing the nursing problem of ineffective airway clearance in the Emergency Room of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Regional General Hospital in Purwokerto. Results: The diagnosis observed in the patient is apparent bronchopneumonia related to respiratory system infection. Actions: In addressing bronchopneumonia, the author implemented honey therapy as part of the treatment. Evaluation: The evaluation results indicate that the nursing problem of ineffective airway clearance in bronchopneumonia has not been resolved.
