Abstract
Background: Cleanliness is very important thing to pay attention to, especially personal hygiene in early childhood. In keeping the environment clean, students often litter, and spit carelessly. Nationally, the presentation of PHBS is 56.58%. PHBS can be done in various places, can be done in schools, communities, public places. Objective: Finding out the description of clean and healthy living behavior in SD Negeri 1 Pangenjurutengah Purworejo. Methods: Descriptive with a survey approach. The number of samples were 86 respondents. The technique used total sampling. Instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Data were analyzed descriptively. Results: Students behave in a clean and healthy enough category (82.6%). Students behavior in eating and drinking was sufficient category (64.0%). Students behave in the poor category of personal hygiene (41.9%). Students have good environmental hygiene behavior (91.9%). Students behave towards the concept of health and illness in the good category (97.7%). Students behave in the poor category of body balance (83.7%). Recommendation: Behavior greatly affects a person health status, so it is hoped that families can move children to participate in efforts to improve health, especially in terms of PHBS in order to improve the health status of children and families.
