Abstract
Background: Pneumonia is an inflammatory process where there is consolidation caused by the filling of the alveoli cavity by exudate which is characterized by coughing accompanied by rapid breathing or shortness of breath and fever in children caused by infectious agents such as viruses, bacteria and mycoplasma (fungi). Purpose of this research is to implement evidence-based nursing interventions, namely the application of chest physiotherapy to overcome ineffective airway clearance in children with pneumonia at RSU Siaga Medika Banyumas. Research method uses a case study design using a nursing care approach, namely assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing intervention, nursing implementation and nursing evaluation. The samples taken were five people. The priority intervention is the application of chest physiotherapy by measuring respiratory frequency and the presence of additional breath sounds. Results of the study showed that the respiratory frequency was within the normal range and there were no additional breath sounds after being given nursing intervention using chest physiotherapy. Recommendation application of chest physiotherapy can be used as part of nursing care for children
