Abstract
Background: Laparotomy is abdominal surgery performed to treat various health problems. Patients who will undergo laparotomy can experience anxiety, both before and after surgery. Anxiety can interfere with the healing process and increase the risk of complications. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze nursing care for pre- and post-operative laparotomy patients with anxiety at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This research uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The research subjects were 5 pre- and post-operative laparotomy patients with anxiety. The research instruments are nursing care formats, Nursing Kits, and action innovation SOPs. Data collection was carried out by interviews, observation and physical examination. The data collected includes demographic data, medical history, physical examination results, and anxiety scale analysis results. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively. Data is presented in the form of tables and narratives. Results:The results of the assessment carried out on surgical patients, the main complaint felt was anxiety. The priority nursing diagnosis in laparotomy surgery patients is anxiety. The nursing interventions and implementation carried out were psychotherapeutic with relaxation innovations, five finger hypnosis and murottal. The results of the nursing evaluation in laparotomy surgery patients showed a decrease in the level of anxiety by 3.2 HADS scores from an average of 12 (57%) or the moderate category to 8.8 (42%) or the mild category. Judging from the patient's ability, it showed an increase in the patient's ability to perform relaxation and hypnosis. 5 Fingers and Murottal is 40%, namely from an average of 50% to 90%. Innovations in relaxation measures, five finger hypnosis and murottal are effective in reducing anxiety levels in laparotomy surgery patients. Conclusion: Action innovations (deep breathing, 5-finger hypnosis, and murottal of the Qur'an) can be alternative nursing interventions in reducing the anxiety level of pre- and post-laparotomy patients. Recommendation: It is necessary to create a standard operating procedure for action innovation (deep breathing, 5-finger hypnosis, and murottal of the Qur'an) to ensure the safety and effectiveness of implementing action innovation in nursing care.
