Abstract
Background, Vertigo is a subtype of "dizziness" which can be defined as the illusion of movement, and which most often is the feeling or sensation of the body spinning towards the environment or vice versa, the environment around us feels spinning. The nursing diagnosis that most often appears in vertigo sufferers is pain. In this case study, the management of vertigo is related to nonpharmacological therapy for vertigo sufferers who experience acute pain, namely by applying Brant Daroff. General Objective: Analyzing the management problems of vertigo patients with pain by providing Brandt Daroff Therapy intervention in the Emergency Room at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo General Hospital, Purwokerto. Method: This research uses a descriptive method by analyzing the action of Brandt Daroff therapy on acute pain. Nursing Care Results, the problem in this case study for the five patients was acute pain, the intervention given was: pharmacological therapy as recommended, and non pharmacological techniques: Brandt Daroff therapy 1x30 minutes for 15 minutes, and respiration was monitored before and after the procedure. Of the five acute pain patients, there was a decrease in the pain scale, before and after the procedure there was a decrease in the pain scale with an average decrease of 5 after the entire procedure for 1x30 minutes. Recommendation: The results of this research can be applied to patients with complaints of acute pain in order to reduce the pain scale using nonpharmacological methods.
