Abstract
Background: Low self-esteem is a prolonged feeling of worthlessness, worthlessness and low self-esteem due to negative evaluation of oneself and one's abilities. Handling low self-esteem can use non-pharmacological therapy by applying positive affirmation techniques. Objective: To describe nursing care using positive affirmation techniques to overcome low self-esteem in Laryngeal CA patients. Method: This research used a descriptive method with case study subjects of 5 people using the SELF-ESTEEM ROSNEBERG SELF ESTEEM SCALE questionnaire, nursing care format, SOP for positive affirmation techniques during 3 meetings, observation sheets, percentage data analysis, carried out at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Results: The results of nursing intervention in the form of applying positive affirmation techniques showed that clients experienced an increase in self-esteem with a difference of 6-7 scores. Conclusion: The combination of applying positive affirmation techniques can increase self-esteem in Laryngeal CA patients. Recommendation: It is hoped that the application of positive affirmation techniques can be applied to patients with low self-esteem in hospitals.
