Abstract
Background : In recent years asthma has experienced a significant increase, both developed and developing. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2023 recorded 262 million people suffering from asthma worldwide. Asthma is a health that occurs due to inflammation and narrowing of the bronchi. Nonpharmacological management should be considered to help control symptoms and reduce the risk of asthma such as Pursed Lip Breathing. Objective : To find out nursing care of ineffective airway clearance in asthma pasient at emergency room. Method : This scientific paper used a descriptive method whith a case report approach. Data were obtained through interview, observation, measurement, and documentation. Three patiens were diagnosed with Ineffective Airway Clearance by applying Pursed Lip Breathing therapy and then observed using a Respirasi Rate and SpO2. Results : After the application of Pursed Lip Breathing breathing therapy in asthma patients, it was found that RR decreased and SpO2 increased. Conclusion : The last evaluation used for three days shortness of breath decreased, RR decreased, SpO2 increased, and the patient was able to regulate breathing. Recommendation : Pursed Lip Breathing therapy will be better if patients do Pursed Lip Breathing Exercises independently and regularly at home to control asthma and reduce recurrence.
