Abstract
Background: The aging process is a biological process that cannot be avoided and involves many changes. Especially in the urinary system, namely urinary incontinence which potentially has a fairly large level of importance. Urinary incontinence is influenced by age, the function of the pelvic floor muscles that support the bladder, bladder contractions. The role of nurses as health service providers can provide nonpharmacological therapy with Kegel Exercises to elderly people with urinary incontinence problems. Objective: Analyzing nursing care with the nursing problem of urinary incontinence in the inpatient unit of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This scientific paper uses a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 elderly people with urinary incontinence problems. Data collection using observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results: Evaluation of the five patients showed that after being given Kegel exercises combined with lavender aromatherapy, the average ability to urinate increased, the sensation of urination increased, the frequency of urination decreased, nocturia decreased and VU distension decreased or there was no abdominal distension. Conclusion: The innovative action of Kegel exercises combined with lavender aromatherapy can be applied to overcome the problem of stress urinary incontinence.
