Abstract
Background: Gastritis is a condition where there is inflammation of the gastric mucosal layer which can be acute and chronic. Gastritis can also be caused by an unhealthy lifestyle and Helicobacteria Pylory bacteria. Symptoms felt in patients with gastritis are nausea and vomiting, no appetite, belching, epigastric pain. Nonpharmacological treatment with warm compresses with WWZ (Warm Water Zak) can reduce pain levels, because this method can dilate blood vessels due to muscle tension so that blood flow becomes smooth and can relieve epigastric pain experienced by gastritis sufferers. Objective: Describing nursing care for gastritis patients with acute pain problems by providing warm compress interventions using WWZ (Warm Water Zak) in the emergency room at soedirman hospital kebumen regency. Method: This research used descriptive methods. This study with 3 respondents was carried out for 3 times. Results of case studies: After the warm compresses for 3 times there was a decrease in the pain scale in the respondents, respondent 1 there was a decrease in pain from pain 6 down to a pain scale of 2, respondent 2 decreased from pain 5 to a pain scale of 2, respondent 3 there was a decrease in pain from pain 8 down to a pain scale of 3. At the last done the three respondents had no complaints but still experienced mild pain. Conclusion: Nonpharmacological therapy by giving warm compresses with WWZ (Warm Water Zak) is effective for reducing the pain scale experienced by gastritis patients.
