Abstract

Background, Hypertension is one of the main causes of mortality and morbidity in Indonesia. In the treatment of hypertension accompanied by comorbidities, there are many cases, so the potential for polypharmacy is very large, which causes the possibility of drug interactions. Objective, this study aims to describe the potential interaction of hypertension drugs in inpatients at Prembun Hospital for the 2023 period. Methods, this research is descriptive research by collecting data retrospectively. Data on the use of antihypertensive drugs and data on inpatient visits were obtained from the Inpatient Institution of Prembun Hospital for the 2023 Period. Results, Out of a total of 100 patients, there were 93 interactions (93%). The monotherapy that is often prescribed by the CCB group is Amlodipine (4%) while the combination therapy used by the CCB group with ARB is Amlodipine with Candeartan (29%). There were 3 interactions, namely the severity of moderate interactions as much as 150 (58.3%), the severity of minor interactions as much as 71 (27.6%) and the severity of major interactions as much as 36 (14%). Conclusion, from the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is 93% interaction in the use of hypertension drugs, and 7% there is no interaction in the use of hypertension drugs. Recommendation, it is necessary to conduct further research to be able to conduct research on drug interactions in the future in different years and installations, so that the potential for interactions in other health facilities is known
