Abstract
Background: Dysentery is inflammation that occurs in the stomach and intestines with signs and symptoms lasting less than fourteen days accompanied by nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Objective: To explain nursing care for dysentery patients with acute pain nursing problems in the Aster Room at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital, Purwokerto. Method: This research uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The sample consisted of 5 dysentery patients. The case study instruments used Audio Visual Therapy SOPs for children's songs, SOPs for lavender aromatherapy and observation sheets before and after providing audio visual therapy for children's songs and lavender aromatherapy. Results: Results of the application carried out on 5 patients, all of whom experienced acute pain nursing problems and were given audio visual therapy with children's songs for 15-30 minutes while being given lavender aromatherapy. After the intervention ended 15 minutes then measurements were taken using an observation sheet. Then observed before and after therapy. After applying the therapy to 5 patients, the results showed a decrease in anxiety, a decrease in protective attitudes, and a decrease in grimaces. Recommendation: The results of this study can be applied to patients with complaints of acute pain to reduce anxiety, reduce protective attitudes, and decrease grimaces using non-pharmacological therapy. Conclusion: The results of implementing innovative nursing actions showed that there was a decrease in anxious attitudes, a decrease in protective attitudes, and a decrease in grimaces
