Abstract
Background: Individuals with diabetes are at twice the risk of experiencing anxiety and depression than individuals without diabetes. Psychological conflicts such as anxiety, depression, and stress can cause worsening health conditions or diseases suffered by individuals, one of which causes an increase in blood sugar content. If blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus continue to be unstable, it can lead to complications. Objective: To determine the level of anxiety based on blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus in the work area of UPTD Puskesmas Wanadadi 1. Methods: This study uses qualitative descriptive research methods. The population in this study were all patients of the Wanadadi I Banjarnegara Health Center as many as 315 participants. The sample method used Accidental Sampling, while the number of samples was 176 patients. The research instrument used DASS 42 (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale. Research results: The majority of age with late elderly (56-65 years) amounted to 54 (30.7%), gender is dominated by women at 121 (68.8%), the length of time suffering from DM is mostly less than 10 years 110 (62.5%). The majority of respondents' education is secondary education 113 (64.2%), the majority of blood sugar levels are in the moderate category totaling 106 (60.2%).The level of anxiety is mostly in the very severe category totaling 60 (34.1%). Conclusion: The results showed that the majority of patients experienced very severe anxiety with the most blood sugar levels in the moderate category. Recommendation: Health workers can conduct early detection of anxiety levels of diabetes mellitus patients during health checks and provide education to be able to control their blood sugar levels at all times
