Abstract

Background: Non-hemorrhagic stroke is a clinical symptom that develops rapidly, worsens, and lasts for 24 hours or more, which can cause local and overall nerve death due to vascular disorders. One of these disorders is cerebral circulation disorder, characterized by insufficient oxygen supply, requiring monitoring and treatment to prevent complications. Elevating the head to a 30° position in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients can facilitate increased cerebral blood flow and optimize oxygenation to cerebral tissue. Objevtive: The purpose of this study was to describe nursing care in nonhemorrhagic stroke patients at risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion, with the application of a 30° head-up position. Method: This research utilized a case study method with descriptive approach, and data collection involved interviews, observations, and documentation. Results: After 3 days of nursing care with the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion in non- hemorrhagic stroke patients, the problem was resolved through the application of a 30° head-up position. The results demonstrated an increase in oxygen saturation values. Specifically, the first patient's oxygen saturation increased by 2%, the second patient's by 4%, and the third patient's by 3%. Thus, it can be concluded that the 30° head-up position contributed to the increase in oxygen saturation values. Recommendation: The 30° head-up position can be considered as a nonpharmacological treatment for patients at risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion to enhance oxygen saturation.
