Abstract
Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that cannot be cured but can be suppressed so that it does not experience recurrence. The Indonesian government responded to this by establishing PROLANIS which later it is hoped that DM patients will have a better quality of life. A program is declared successful if DM patients are obedient in carrying out the therapy given. Research Objectives: To determine the relationship between compliance with PROLANIS activities and blood sugar levels in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. Research Methods: This research is an analytic survey research with a cross sectional design with a point time approach. Samples were type 2 DM patients who had become members of Prolanis at the UPTD Puskesmas Binangun, Cilacap Regency, totaling 63 people who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, which were taken using the total sampling technique. The instrument in the study used medical record data of Prolanis participants to determine blood sugar levels at the time and Prolanis attendance to determine adherence of type 2 DM patients. Data analysis used the Chi Square test and Odd ratio (OR). Results: Type 2 DM patients who adhered to Prolanis activities mostly had blood sugar levels in the normal category (68.0%). Type 2 DM patients who do not comply with Prolanis activities are 14,875 times more at risk of having high transient blood sugar levels. Conclusion: There is a relationship between compliance with prolanis activities and blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (pv = 0.000). Recommendation: It is suggested that health workers can improve adherence to participating in Prolanis activities by using the SMS Gateway to remind type 2 DM patients.
