Abstract

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a condition in which the lungs are progressive and cause shortness of breath and a predisposition to exacerbations. The diagnosis of COPD is breathing patterns, and the innovations made are Leaning Forward and Prussed lips breathing. Research Objectives: The general objective is to conduct an analysis in clinical practice for clients on how effective it is to provide Leaning Forward and Pursed Lips Breathing interventions to increase oxygen saturation in COPD sufferers in the emergency room at Dr Margono Soekarjo Regional Hospital. Research Methods: The writing method used by researchers in this final nurse research paper is based on a descriptive research design using case study design techniques. Research Results: The results of nursing evaluations in COPD patients show that nursing problems with ineffective breathing patterns are related to 100% difficulty in breathing effort. Conclusion: From the results of nursing care for the five patients, it can be concluded that giving forward leaning and pursed lips breathing is effective in increasing oxygen saturation in COPD patients. Recommendations: It is hoped that this research will become a source of information for the wider community, especially patients or families of hypertensive patients with complaints of acute pain, to reduce headaches with independent action and can be done at home.
