Abstract
Background : Gastritis, which is an inflammation of the stomach wall, is a common health problem among teenagers and is often triggered by an unhealthy diet. Data from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia stated that in 2018 around 30,154 cases of patients experienced gastritis events. From the previous researcher's data, it was stated that 5 respondents experienced symptoms of gastritis. Research Objective : The purpose of this study is to describe the students' diet and examine the relationship between the diet and the incidence of gastritis. Research Methods : The method used is quantitative descriptive research, which provides an objective picture based on numerical data. The respondents consisted of students in grades 7, 8 and 9 totaling 80 students. Research Results : The results showed that there were 3 students who had a history of gastritis, while 62 students experienced symptoms of gastritis. From the aspect of diet, it was found that 36 students had a bad diet, while 44 students showed a good diet. Conclusion :This study concludes that there is a correlation between poor eating habits and the incidence of gastritis. The researchers hope that students will pay more attention to their eating patterns to support their health and meet their daily activity needs. Recommendations : Conclusion of the description of the student's diet there is an attachment between diet and the incidence of gastritis.
