Abstract

Background: Indonesian Central Statistics Board shows there is an increase of autism disorder in children. This is due to the lack of knowledge about early detection of autism. Therefore, the writer is interested in applying innovative care by using flipchart media for health education of autism early detection. Objectives: The use of flipchart media for health education of autism early detection towards infants. To know the mother’s knowledge before and after being given a health education of autism early detection. To know the effectiveness of health education by using flipchart media for autism early detection. Methods: Data collection techniques used were analytcal descriptive with case study approach (case study). The technique used in determining the participant is purposive sampling based on the inclusion criteria. Results: After being given health education by using flipchart media, the knowledge of participants about autism early detection has increased. Conclusion: The use of flipchart media is effective for health education of autism early detection, i.e. it can improve the participants’ knowledge about autism early detection.
