Abstract
Background: Mother behavior plays an important role in giving breast milk as side-food. The knowledge of mother about breast milk is still low now. Some researches state that nutritional problem of a baby and a child is caused by improperly breast milk feeding. Objective: Describing the treatment and upbringing by giving a health education about providing healthy food for baby and by increasing the mother’s behavior in giving food for her baby. Method: This research is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. The subject is a family having a 7 month-old baby. The analysis and presentation of the data was done in the form of descriptive text and a frequency distribution table. Result: After having a health education, there was an increase in knowledge level from 70% to be 95%. Mother’s capability in giving food for her baby had also increased from 80% to be 95%. Conclusion: The family nursing care by implementing health education can increase the knowledge and behaviour levels of the family having a baby in providing food for the baby.
