Abstract
Background: Association of Indonesian Nephrology shows that there are 70.000 chronic renal failure patients have hemodialysis. But only 4.000 – 5.000 patients registered in Indonesian Renal Registry in 2010. The research conducted by Dr.M.M Dunda Limboto hospital resulted that self concept of chronic renal failure patients with hemodialysis had self concept (61,9%). Objective: Describing nursing care for chronic renal failure patients having self-concept disoder – situational low prestige. Method: This Scientific paper is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, physical examination, and documentation study. The subjects were 2 chronic renal failure patients having situational low prestige. Result: After heaving nursing care, there were response decreases in cognitive by 5 (patient 1) and 3 (client 2), affective by 3 (patient 1) and 3 (patient 2), physiological by 4 (patient 1) and 2 (patient 2), behavioral by 2 (patient 1) and 1 (patient 2), social by 1 (patient 1) and 1 (patient 2). The relaxation technique abilty of both patients had increased by100%. While the ability of dzikir, only patient 2 had increased, patient 1 had no increase. Recommendation: Nurses are suggested to apply relaxation technique in providing nursing care for chronic renal failure patient. Keywords: Chronic renal failure, hemodialysis, situasional low prestige
