Abstract
Background: Decubitus is the damage or the death of skin spreading to the under skin tissue caused by soft tissue compression over the protruding bone and by outer pressure in a consecutive long time. Skin care is the way how to prevent decubitus. It is done by keeping the skin clean moisture using skin cleaner with a balanced PH. Besides it can be done by giving topical, such as lotion, cream and ointment with low alcohol, and olive oil to decrease the risk of skin damage. Objective: Describing nursing care for stroke patient having risk of skin damage by applying olive oil massage to prevent decubitus. Method: This scientific paper is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. Data were obtained through interview, observation, and physical examination. The subject was a stroke patient having a risk of skin integrity damage. Result: After having nursing care by applying olive oil massage for 3 days, there was an increase in Branden scale score of skin from 11 to be 13. Conclusion: The application of olive oil massage can prevent decubitus of stroke patient having a risk of skin integrity damage. Keywords: Decubitus, massage, olive oil
