Abstract
Background: The coverage in Indonesia is only 42%. This is clearly below the target of WHO that requires the breastfeeding coverage is up to 50%. Breast care is a treatment that can be applied to support breastfeeding process. Objective: To describe of nursing care by applying breast care treatment to increase milk production of primipara postpartum mother. Method: This scientific paper is an analytical descriptive with a study case approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, physical examination and documentation. The subject in this case study was a primipara postpartum with ineffective breastfeeding. The instrument was breast milk coverage assessment. Result: After having nursing care by applying breast care treatment for 3x24 hours, the breast milk production was increasing and the coverage value of breast milk was also increasing. Conclusion: Breast care treatment can be applied by the mother herself to increase breast milk production so that she can give exclusive breastfeeding.
