Abstract
Backgroun: The development of a child in the early years is very important that will determine his quality in the future. During pre-school period, a child has to acquire various developmental tasks before stepping to the next stage. Obstacles in achieving the development tasks will affect the further development. If the child has active movement, he will get more benefits that can make him more skillful in controlling his motor movements. Rope Jumping or skipping can be done since the early childhood Objective: To determine the effect of rope jumping game (skipping) on the rough motor development of pre-schoole children in the Kindergarten of Lamuk, Kejobong Subdistrict, Purbalingga regency. Method: This study is a quasi experiment with one group pre-test-post-test design. The samples were 30 children taken by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and also by correlative analysis using paired t test. Result: Before the intervention of rope jumpimg game (skipping), 23 of 30 children (76.7%) have rough motor development in appropriate category. After the intervention, however, all of the 30 children (100%) have also appropriate category of rough motor development. Conclusion: There is an effect of rope jumping game (skipping) on the development of rough motor movement of pre-school children in the Kindergarten of Lamuk, Kejobong, Purbalingga (p=0.003).
