Abstract
Background: Indonesia is one of the most disaster-prone countries. The incidents of disaster can threaten and disrupt the life and livelihood of the people. Mean while, landslide disaster has caused many serious losses and negative impacts. This needs an effort to reduce disaster risks, such as by mitigation and emergency response. Objective: To know the knowledge level over view of mitigation and emergency response of landslide disaster at Semampir society, Sempor Sub-district, Kebumen Regency. Method: This study is a descriptive quantitative with survey approach. The samples are 55 respondents taken by purposive sampling technique. Data was obtained from questionnaire sheet and analyzed by using univariate analysis. Result: This study resulted in the findings that the knowledge level about disaster mitigation was mostly in good category of 48 respondents (87.3%). The knowledge level of the public about emergency response of landslide disaster was mostly in good category of 49 respondents (89.1%). Conclusion: The knowledge level of the community about mitigation and emergency response of landslide disaster was in good category. Recommendation: Further study is needed to examine the factors that affect the knowledge level of mitigation and emergency.
