Abstract

Background: According to Junaidi (2011) stroke is a functional disorder disease due to inhibition of blood flow to the brain. The prevalence of stroke in Semarang was 17.91% (Central Java Provincial Health Office, 2007). Stoykov and Corcos (2009) studies state that bilateral exercises on hands with stroke provide effective results and improve hand functional ability compared to unilateral being measured by motor assessment scale. Objective: To perform nursing care by applying range of motion (ROM) therapy to increase joints movement of non-hemorrhagic stroke patient. Method: This paper is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. Data were obtained trhough interview, observation, physical examination. The subject was a non-hemorrhagic stroke patient. Result: After the intervention and implementation of ROM therapy twice a day in 5 days, there was an increase in joints movement from 64% to be 91%. Conclusion: The application of ROM therapy is an effective way to increase the joint movement of non-hemotthagic stroke patient and her family
