Abstract
Background: Chronic renal failure’s a high-cost disease and it can complicatedly endanger the sufferer’s life. The most widely used therapy for replacing renal function is hemodialysis. Family support is very influential for their family member undergoing hemodialysis. The family’s experience’s different in terms of psycological responses. The researcher is interested in exploring more deeply about the experience of family whose member is undergoing hemodialysis. Objective: Finding out the family’s experience in proving care for their family member with chronic renal failure having hemodialysis in RSUD Majenang. Method: This research is qualitative phenomenology descriptive. The participants are 6 members obtained by criterion techniques. The data were collected through interviews and from field notes, analyzed by applying the Collaizzi technique. Result: The study resulted in the findings indicating that family’s experience’s different in caring for their family’s member undergoing hemodialysis. This is differences in experience and perception. Family support is important factor to improve the motivation and self-confidence. Conclusion: The family’s experience in the form of response upon their family’s member undergoing hemodialysis are early psychological response and psychological response during the treatment. The point of view every family is different because different about experiences and perceptions.
