Abstract
Background, injury is a health problem in Indonesia and in the world and is the leading cause of death in childrens. Some prevention efforts that can be done in the case of injuries in the household is to conduct health education to increase knowledge and awareness of parents about the importance of proper handling of injuries. Preliminary results showed that the knowledge of parents still less where the level of knowledge about handling injuries among children under five are injured do with less precise. Objective, the objective of this research is to finding the effect of health education about first aid to the perents on the level knowledgeof parental in handling injury children under five at home in Tunjungseto Village, Sempor Subdistrict. Methods, this reasearch use the quasi experimental method with the one-group pre-post test design without control. The samples of this reasearch consisted of 50 respondents. They were taken by using he purposive sampling method. The data of reasearch were analyzed by using the paires sample t test. Result,this reasearch found that the parents level of knowledge before being given a health eduction was at a moderate level of knowledge (71,1%) and significantly increasing after being given a health education up to a good level of knowledge (93,7%). Conclusions, the collected data were than analyzed the paires sample t test and showed pvalue= 0.000 (p= 0,005) whichmeans the alternetive hypothesis is accepted, so there is an effect of health education about first aid to the perents level of knowledge in handling injury children under five at home in Tunjungseto Village, Sempor Subdistrict Suggestion, the further studies research can examine other factors that affect health education such as social, cultural, experience, and employment.
