Abstract
Background: Nutrition is an important factor for a new babyborn with low weight (LBW) due to organ immaturity and low body nutritional reserve. Objective: To provide an overview of nursing care for babies having low babyborn weight due to problem with the fulfillment of nutritional needs. Nursing Care: The result of conducting the assessment shows that the clients had no suction reflex. The writer found nursing problems, i.e. ineffectiveness of infant feeding pattern due to weak suction reflex. Then intervention and implementation were conducted, such as weighing the clients, monitoring residue and suction reflex, and providing nutrition as well. The nursing care was done in 3 days resulting an evaluation that the clients had weight gain and no weight loss. Conclusion: Provision of nutrients proven to increase weight on clients LBW.
