Abstract
Background: Pleural effusion is the underlying state of a disorder and is asymptomatic until fluid accumulation in the pleural space causes cardiorespiratory disorders (dyspnea, orthopnea) symptoms that occur in the pleura such as chest pain, suppressed feeling. The larger body will complain of sharp pain during inspiration or cough resulting from stretching of the pleura parieta. Objective: To explain the nursing care on the client with shortness of breath in Emergency Installation RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Methods: This scientific paper is an analysis of five nursing care clients with nursing ineffectiveness problems by way of assessment of problem formulation, data analysis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Results: Nursing care of five patients received samples, most in the 55-59 age group. Pleural effusions are common in male sex (60%), compared to women (40%). The action fowler position of 30-450 can ease the respiratory process on the inhalation of the ineffectiveness breath pattern. Conclusions: Pleural effusions are common in patients over the age of ± 55 years. Chest X-ray is one of the most frequent investigations to diagnose pleural effusion. Positioning action fowler can help the respiratory process in patients pleural effusion.
