Abstract

Background : The sectio caesarea childbirth method has been increasing in the worldwide, particularly in the middle and high income countries, and it became controversial health society issues. The research data conducted in 2013 showed that sectio caesarea childbirth program was around 9.8%. However, pre-sectio caesarea affects the mother to have anxiety resulting in high risk on health condition of the mother and fetus. Objective: Describing nursing care analysis of pre-sectio caesarea patients with anxiety issues in Bougenvil Ward, Dr. Soedirman Hospital of Kebumen. Method: Case study of five cases using descriptive method. Result: The nursing diagnosis that aroused was anxiety. Intervention and implementation included discussion of anxiety (definition, causes, signs and symptoms), practice inner breathing techniques, distraction, relaxation, five fingers hypnosis, and spiritual activities. The results of evaluation on 5 patients found that the anxiety of 3 patients could be overcome, while the other 2 patients have not been resolved. Recommendation: Five-finger hypnotic therapy needs to be applied to patients with pre-cesarean section surgery with anxiety problems
