Abstract
Background : pain in head injured patients is the most common complaint of mild head injury patients or about 82% of the patients experience. Management of acute pain that occurs in mild head injury can be done with both pharmacological and non-pharmacologic therapies. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be done independently by the nurse is by giving slow breathing technique. Objective : to analyze nursing care to patient with acute pain by administration of slow deep breathing treatment in Teratai Room of Dr. Soedirman Kebumen Hospital Results of Nursing Care : evaluation to 5 patients after given slow deep breathing technique obtained decrease in the scale of pain in patients. Patients stated of ability to slowly do the breathing technique and would constantly do it again when they feel headache Conclusion : administration of slow deep breathing technique in patients is essential to decrease the intensity of headache, especially in mild head injury patients.
