Abstract
Background: Knowledge is very important for creating one’s action, especially in breast care during pregnancy. It is an important part to be considered as preparation for breastfeeding. Breast needs to be prepared during pregnancy so that it can soon function properly when the baby is born. Coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia tends to decrease. This is because of non-acceleating breast milk due to lack of information about breast care during pregnancy. Breast milk does not flow out on the first day so that the baby is considerably given some other drink.This is because the nipples are flat, still burried, blistered, and swollen. If breast care is done well and regularly, it will avoid from the sore or scuffed nipples, breast infections. Besides, good and regular breast care will accelerate the flow of breast milk after delivery so that the mother can feed he exclusive breast milk to her baby. Objective: The purpose of this study is to provide midwifery care for pregnant mothers in the trisemester III about breast care during pregnancy by demonstration in Community HeralthCentre 2 of Ayah. Method: This research is a qualitative descriptive with a case study approach. This research was conducted in Community Health Centre 2 of Ayah, Kebumen in March 2018. Samples were 5 primigravida mothers. The instrument used in this study is a closed questionnaire. Result: The result of this study is that there was an increase in the knowledge of primigravida mothers about breast care. There were 2 less knowledgable and 3 enough knowledgable respondents before the implementation of health education that have improved to be good knowledgable respondents after the implementation of health education.
