Abstract
Background: There are 80% cases of emisis gravidarum in Indonesia suffered by pregnant mothers and give an impact on their physical and mental. It can be cursed by pharmaciana and non-pharmacology treatments. There is an increasing tendency of women to use herbal medication during pregnancy, such a tang yuan and ginger. Tang Yuan and ginger are foods that can help pregnant mothers in reducing the frequency of emisis gravidarum. Spicy flavor of ginger is due to a zingerone substance that inhibits serotonin receptors. It has an anti-emetic effect on the gastrointestinal system and central nervous system. Objective: To find out the application of tang yuan snack to decrease the frequency emisis gravidarum on pregnant mothers trimester I. Method: This scientific paper is analytical descriptive with a case study. Data were obtained through interview, direct observation, and documentation. The participants were 5 pregnant mothers in trimester I. Result: After consuming tang yuan food, there was a decrease in the Conjuring nausea frequency, i.e. from 4 times vomiting nausea to be twice (participant 1), from 5 times to be 4 times (participant 2 and 3), from 3 times to be no vomiting nausea (participant 4) and from 4 times to be no more vomiting nausea (participant 5). Conclusion: Consuming tang yuan food can be reduce the frequency of emisis gravidarum in trimester I pregnant mothers.
