Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the cancers with a high incidence and mortality rate in Indonesia, particularly among women of reproductive age. The lack of knowledge among adolescent girls regarding risk factors, symptoms, and prevention of cervical cancer can lead to insufficient positive attitudes and preventive behaviors, such as maintaining reproductive organ hygiene, receiving HPV vaccination, and undergoing early detection. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes as well as preventive behaviors toward cervical cancer among teenage girl. This research was a quantitative study using a cross-sectional design. The study population and total sample of 173 respondents selected through stratified random sampling. The analysis showed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes toward cervical cancer prevention (p = 0.000; p < 0.05). A significant relationship was also found between the level of knowledge and cervical cancer preventive behaviors (p = 0.005; p < 0.05). In addition, a significant association was observed between attitudes and overall cervical cancer prevention practices (p = 0.001; p < 0.05).
