Abstract

Latar Belakang : In Indonesia, the use of social media continues to increase over time. Sexual deviations such as lesbianism, homosexuality, bisexuality, and transgender, or collectively referred to as LGBT, are becoming increasingly prominent. Both opposing and supportive views regarding LGBT exist. An initial study at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kebumen showed that students were beginning to recognize LGBT content on social media, with many perceiving LGBT behavior as deviant sexual behavior. Tujuan penelitian : This study aims to describe the perceptions of adolescents at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kebumen towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) behavior on social media. Metode penelitian : This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 178 students from grades 7, 8, and 9, selected through proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected using valid and reliable questionnaires, then analyzed univariately. Hasil penelitian : The majority of respondents were aged 13 years old (37.6%), female (53.4%), and from grade 7 (42.7%). Adolescents' perceptions of LGBT behavior on social media were mostly positive (93.3%), with a small percentage showing negative perceptions (6.7%). Kesimpulan : Most adolescents at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kebumen have a positive perception that views LGBT behavior as dexiviant sexual behavior. Future research is expected to further explore adolescents' attitudes and the dangers of LGBT content on social media. Rekomendasi : There is a need for planned education or counseling for adolescents through information dissemination in formal or extracurricular settings. Collaboration between schools and health institutions is essential to provide more comprehensive information and understanding.
