Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, which can lead to serious complications and death. Therefore, early detection through screening activities is crucial, especially among Indonesian Army soldiers with high activity levels. Objective: To determine the relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of hypertension and to evaluate the quality of health screening services at Cavalry Battalion 9 /SDK. The method used was a quantitative descriptive approach with a cross-sectional design, with data collection through blood pressure observation and questionnaires. The results showed that participants' blood pressure tended to decrease after undergoing hypertension screening, from an average systolic of 130.00 mmHg to 7.03 mmHg, and diastolic from 90.76 mmHg to 82.66 mmHg. Risk factor analysis revealed a relationship between lifestyle factors such as smoking, diet, and physical activity and the incidence of hypertension. Conclusion: These results emphasize the importance of routine screening and health education to prevent and manage hypertension in the military environment. It is recommended that screening activities be implemented continuously with adequate facilities and education to improve soldier health and productivity.
