Abstract

Background: Vaginal discharge is a fluid that comes out of the vagina but is not blood. Around 70% of young women in Indonesia suffer from vaginal discharge problems. This is known as excessive vaginal discharge which is usually caused by disease or without disease. Vaginal discharge is divided into two types, namely physiological and pathological vaginal discharge. Young women need education about preventing vaginal discharge with proper vulva hygiene. So that there are no symptoms of uterine cancer, a very dangerous condition that can kill women if not treated properly, starting from pathological vaginal discharge. Objective: To determine the influence of vulva hygieyen education on the knowledge of vaginal discharge prevention in adolescent girls at Al-Huda VIP Junior High School, Kebumen. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pre-post test. The respondents used 66 students with random sampling techniques. The instruments used were ppt, leaflet, booklet and 16-item knowledge questionnaire. The analysis uses the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results showed that there was an effect of health education with vulva hygiene on the knowledge of vaginal discharge prevention in adolescent girls (p=0.000). Conclusion: The effect of vulva hygiene education on the knowledge of vaginal hygiene is effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge about vaginal discharge. Recommendation: Further research is expected to conduct further research on vulva hygiene education on the knowledge of vaginal discharge prevention and apply it to a wider range of subjects
